In hotel homes news this week: new condo hotels planned for Seattle and Shenzhen, two condo hotel residences in NYC with record asking prices, plus new Ritz-Carlton properties in Miami Beach, Tianjin and Pearl Island.
Now in the first few days of October, summer seems decidedly over. It’s time to pack up warm weather wardrobes, and dust off your sweaters, coats and boots. While winter is on its way in the Northern Hemisphere (or has already arrived in places like Park City, Utah), summer is just ramping up in other parts of the world. If you are looking to extend your beach days, consider these resort locations where sunshine and sand are abundant and you can maintain your tan all year long.
Scheduled to open to residents in 2015, the Grand Hyatt Residences Manila will be the Philippine capital’s third for-sale branded residential project, joining Shangri-La and Raffles. The new project is located in Manila’s Fort Bonifacio Global City development, being developed through a joint venture of property developer Federal Land Inc. and Japanese financial services group ORIX Corporation. The third Grand Hyatt Residences in the works will join like properties in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Baha Mar in the Bahamas.

In honor of Saint Valentine, this week HotelHomes.com is looking at the most romantic aspects of the world’s finest hotel-residential lifestyles. While the luxury spa market continues its exponential growth, today we are focused on two of our favorite spa options for couples.
For those looking for a spectacular retreat, the spa at the Raffles Praslin Seychelles is worth the trip. Just four hours from Dubai or a ten-hour direct flight from London, the Seychelles benefits from warm yet mild weather year-round making it the perfect holiday home destination. The on-premises spa was honored with a ranking on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2012 Spa Hot List, and its romantic features surely contributed to this honor.
The largest spa in the Seychelles, Raffles Praslin offers a variety of couple’s massage and treatment options in their couple’s spa pavilion with steam shower, Japanese soaking tub, and private observation deck with tranquil sea views. The signature treatment utilizes locally-harvested pearl powder which has long-lasting rejuvenating effects which may well rekindle that romantic spark.
For the ultimate experience, the resort offers massages and spa treatments aboard its yacht. We envision a sunset cruise, on-board massage and moonlight swim as our ultimate Valentine’s date.
Those looking for a romantic in-town getaway will find paradise at the newly opened Mandarin Oriental in Atlanta. Residents of the oversized full- and half-floor homes can take the elevator to the hotel’s first-class spa. While the spa provides steam, sauna and an indoor vitality pool, the highlight is the couple’s suite, which includes two treatment tables, a private shower and an oversized soaking tub for two.
Couples spa treatments at Mandarin Oriental Atlanta range from two to four hours – highly tempting for residents living upstairs. For hotel guests, Mandarin Oriental is offering a “Be My Valentine” special that includes breakfast in bed, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne and rose-pedal turn down with scented flowers and sweet chocolates. A fantastic getaway for the couple who can only spare a night, you can also call the Robert AM Stern-designed tower in the desirable Buckhead neighborhood home, with prices starting at US$1.9 million.
For those looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a romantic five-star spa, consider making it a lifestyle with the purchase of a villa at Raffles Estates Praslin Seychelles or a residence at The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Atlanta.
